What the law sets up
Law No. 17 of 2026, issued by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, establishes the Dubai Longevity Authority (DLA), a government body dedicated to longevity activities in the emirate.
Who needs a permit
Article 7 says no one may carry out a longevity activity in Dubai without a permit from the Authority, and this applies in free zones too. The activities listed include longevity treatments and services, research and clinical trials, and the promotion, sale or distribution of longevity products.
What is still unknown
- The detailed permit rules and timelines have not been published.
- How the DLA permit will sit alongside existing DHA licences for clinics.
- Whether marketing of supplements and tests online will be covered, and how.
What it changes for you today
For now, a clinic in Dubai still needs its Dubai Health Authority licence, and one in Abu Dhabi its Department of Health licence. Before you book, ask which licence the provider holds and check it. Once DLA permits exist, this becomes the second thing to check.
Longevity Ratio takes no fee or commission from clinics while these rules are pending. We will cover each new DLA rule in the newsletter when it is published.
